A member asked:

I have had an uri a couple weeks ago with a cough and trouble speaking. the uri is gone just not the cough. when to worry and not worry about a cough?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cough: You might cough for 2-3 weeks or so with a cold. Typically that would be more so at night. If the cough persists more than 2-3 weeks, if there are persistent fevers, if the cough seems to be worsening, if weight loss, if cough worsens with activity, if short of breath, then these are all reasons to see the doctor and get this checked out.
