Stair climbing: The psoas and quadriceps (rectus femoris) are your strongest hip flexor muscles. Simple stair climbing whereby you lift your leg against gravity and move vertically constitutes real work and recruits all hip flexors to generate force and increase stregth and endurance. Similarily, leg extensions in the gym also work the rectus femoris (knee extensor and hip flexor). These are just 2 of many.
