Scar tissue: Most likely the hard lump is scar tissue. As the wound heals, scar tissue forms and it is more dense and feels harder than normal skin. It would be unlikely this far out to have a wound infection, but If there is increased redness, swelling, pain or red streaks, I suggest being seen. I hope this helps.
