Where are facet joints in the body?

See below: The facet joints are cartilage covered joints that link one vertebrae with another. They guide the motion of the spine. With age they do get more arthritic but do not always cause pain. Pain from facet joints is usually achy and can certainly radiate down into the leg. Usually the pain from facet joints goes into the buttocks, back of the thigh and sometimes to the upper calf. Worse with standing.

Part of the spine: They are small joints found at almost every level of the spine located at each disc level, one on the right and one on the left in the back part or posterior part of the spine.

Spine Joints: Facet joints are places on the spinal bones where two bones actually meet and articulate, therefore a facet joint injection is into that place where they meet. Many times arthritis or inflammation can arise here and cause pain.
