Meds for anx & ADHD?: It looks like you already take methylphenidate (Ritalin), a stimulant. Stimulant meds, while commonly rx'ed for ADHD, may exacerbate twitches/tics & anxiety. It's important to discuss ur treatment hx with ur doc. If you've not had incr tic/twitches on stimulant. You may not be likely to develop these. While one med may b preferred, some Pts would do better with one for each symptom. Talk to ur doc

I agree. Studies : show that the stimulants, methylphenidate (MPH) & amphetamine (AMPH) can increase, decrease or cause no change in pre-existing tics. If you know that MPH exacerbates your tics, your doctor can try AMPH after you've been off the MPH a couple of days. Other options are trying non-stimulants. You & your doctor have to devise a game plan, then communicate frequently about effects & side-effects.
