Abscess, boil?: If you have a newly tender lump it could be a skin infecton: boil (aka abscess, furuncle, carbuncle). Don't squeeze it. Apply warm compresses. (heat on 30 minutes off an hour) 4 times or so a day. If it is as large as a walnut and squshy it might needed to be drained. Your doc or an UC can do this. If you have fever over 101, red streaks going up your leg, and it gets bigger rapidly, go to ER
