Both options: Could have both done at the same time, or separately on either order. Ask your weight loss surgeon to be sure. Hope this helps!

Umbilical hernia: You might be able to have it repaired at the same time. However, I tend to prefer to do the hernia repair after you have lost a lot of weight. Fixing it when you are overweight increases the chances that the repair will fail and the hernia recurs.

Depends on the size: It's difficult to do a laparoscopic procedure (such as placing the gastric band) when there is a large hernia. It is possible to do both procedures at the same time, but would check with the surgeon. Also depends on your anesthesia risk.
