Growth?: One important aspect of evaluating the pain in your child is his overall growth. Has it been ok? Currently has there been any weight loss? Does the pain wake him from sleep at night? Does the pain keep him from playing? Has he had any contacts with viral illness? Does he have fever? Does his abdomen appear flat? or is it distended? Any dark green bile in the vomit? or is it just food?

Acid reflux: Acid reflux is relatively common in children, especially those who required special formulas as infants, or who spit up excessively. Symptoms of reflux in children include frequent complaints of stomach aches, hoarseness, vomiting in the absence of diarrhea/pain/fever and recurrent upper respiratory infections.
