It can help symptoms: It can help you feel more comfortable breathing. Irrigate with sterile saline solution like Ocean or Ayr twice daily, breath in steam from pan of boiling water with towel to keep steam in, After 10 days or if high fever and facial pain, see dr. for antibiotic treatment. You may use Afrin nasal spray if desperate to sleep for only 3 nights in a row then stop.

Sinus infection: Infections of the sinuses develop when fluids accumulate and become infected. People with allergies have nasal congestion which blocks normal drainage, promoting these infection. Claritin D is a combination antihistamine (good for allergy symptom reduction) and a decongestant (helps reduce swelling of the nasal and sinus tissue) and can be helpful in sinusitis treatment and prevention.

Claritin (loratadine) D usage: Claritin D can be helpful, but may not be enough depending on severity and can cause insomnia if taken in the evening. Young women are more susceptible to the side effects, which may include palpitations. Sinus rinses and steroid nasal sprays with an appropriate antibiotic maybe more effective. Warm facial soaking or heating pads are helpful. Seek attention if discharge becomes discolored.
