8 1/2 month old w/ stuffy/runny nose drainage down throat some difficulty breathing and fever but can't get an accurate read, should i take him to er?

Congestion : Before you take your child to ER. Look at his breathing pattern. If he's breathing fast or coughing constantly, not having wet diapers, very fussy then yes take him to the ER. However if he seems to be nasally congested but otherwise seems to be usual self, eating and drinking normally, give him a few days before going to Your pediatrician not the ED

Viral syndrome: If the difficult breathing is more than from the congestion, then you need to take him to ER. Other than that lots of fluids, acetaminophen/ibuprofen for the fever should be okay until the morning. Take him into a steamy bathroom with the water running and use saline drops with suctioning.Good Luck.
