I have questions...: For how long have you been taking Fluoxetine - it can take upwards of six weeks to have a meaningful effect at times so perhaps you haven't been taking it long enough. If you've been on it a while, it just might not be the right medication for you. Often patients will bounce through a few of these meds before they settle on the one that works well for them.

Takes 6-8 weeks: Fluoxetine usually takes 6 to 8 weeks to improve symptoms for depression (and weeks for other reasons it is prescribed). If symptoms have not improved after that time frame (often earlier), then your doctor may switching it to another drug or increase the dose. It is important for you to keep taking the med until then. Just as important, communicate these and other symptoms to your doctor.
