Surgical oncologist: Many cases of lymphadenitis which persists , especially in more than one region may be related to lymphoma. If the process does not subside and biopsy is needed a surgical oncologist must be contacted. The only biopsy of value is excisional biopsy since a needle biopsy can give inaccurate info in that the architecture of the node must be defined if there is lymphoma.
