A member asked:

Why does it hurt to have a bm with a colostomy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It shouldn't: The colon itself has no pain receptors. You may have pain from relative obstruction to stool if t opening in the abdominal wall is narrow or scar tissue from surgery. A hernia at the Soma (carisoprodol) ite is another possible cause.
