Better no: till he recovers or at least for the first few days of his illness, better for him too to wear a mask when around yourself, or you should wear the mask, I don't know why you had respiratory failure, could be for different reasons, but the fact that you sustained such serious illnes behooves us to be rather bit cautious, good luck

Probably not: As with coughs, colds, flu, and other similar viral infections, can pass on the infection. In particular, if in close contact with others. Croup often occurs in outbreaks or epidemics in the winter. An infection by virus that causes croup in a young child may cause a cough or sore throat in an older child or adult, but is unlikely to cause stridor of croup.
