See Eye Doctor: Your history of arthritis may need to be evaluated further to see if it may be related to your eye issues too, as it's possible, depending on the type of arthritis you have. It may be why your eye drops don't work well. Also, unilateral dryness may indicate you need your thyroid worked up as well, and have your lid height, lid lag measured for exposure issues causing dryness. Work with your PCP!
