Can be: Ovarian cysts sometimes get larger or smaller with different concentrations of your female hormones. Menstral cycle can cause surge of female hormones which can enlarge ovarian cysts which can be painful.
Furthermore, large ovarian cysts can cause right or left lower abdominal or pelvic pain.

Need more inf0: Based on what is provided, it is hard to formulate an answer to your question. Size of cyst, treatment recommended and follow up recommendations would be helpful. Ultrasound characteristics of cyst are important as well. Most (>90%) of benign cysts resolve with time. The ones that don't are the ones which are acted upon by most doctors.

Pain might go away: Many women have ovarian cysts at some time during their lives. Most ovarian cysts present little or no discomfort and are harmless. The majority of ovarian cysts disappear without treatment within a few months. However, ovarian cysts — especially those that have ruptured — sometimes produce serious symptoms. The best ways to protect your health are to know risky symptoms and see gyn doc regularly.
