UTI: Both are not primary choice. Antibiotic course depends on bacteria growing in urine, detecble via urine cukture. Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) or Macrobid ot Ciproflixacin are usually first choice. Please see doc. Thanks. Xf

Yes: Not as common as quinolones (eg cipro) or sulfa drugs (trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole), the antibiotics you mentioned can be used to treat uti's, depending on how common it is to find bacteria that is sensitive to- your prescribing doctor should have an idea regarding this issue.

Cefdinir: Hi,cefdinir 300mg twice daily for 10 days will usually take care of uncomplicated cystitis/UTI unless it is due to an organism that is resistant.Since you have been in pain all week,it is a good idea to see your doctor or a walk-in clinic in your area.Increase fluid intake and seek help.Get well soon.
