Headache for 3 wks straight. ct at er showed one small area of brain abnor. ref. 2 neuro for mri/mra. head mri 1 yr ago normal. what could it be?

Nothing major : I am guessing nothing serious because you just had a normal MRI a year ago could be anything that might explain the pain from a calcified artery to an a calcification in different area of the brain the neurologist will examined you review the CT scan you had in the ER and assure you and order appropriate treatment or further testing thank you for using health tap and good luck

Based on your info: impossible to know for sure. I will guess that if the ER set up a REFERRAL to a neurologist for some time in the future that whatever it is, or appears to be (since imaging studies are often overcalled or show artifact that mean nothing clinically) that it is not anything of urgent consequence. You will need to give more info for us to help you any further. Ask for a copy of the report or image
