Chicken Pox: Chicken Pox generally begin in the central area of the body, and erupt in patches. It takes 2-3 days for them to appear on other areas of the body. They are initially red bumps but turn into blisters that have a central indentation. They are extremely itchy and the scratching will often lead to scars. The rash your child has does not sound typical for chicken pox. ? Immunization at 12 months?

NotChickenPox: At 15 months your child should have had her first varicella vaccine which should protect her from the chicken pox. As no vaccine is 100% then the next thing to know about pox is that the rash typically starts with just a couple of bumps which increase over the next few days. The bumps go from being red macules (flat) to pustules (blisters) with in about 24-36 hours after they first appeared.
