Impossible to Tell: The gestational sac should be seen via US by 4.5-5 weeks. Therefore, on that day of US you could have been anywhere from 1-4 weeks. HCG has no role in determining gestational age. IF your estimated gestational age by your calculation (time of last menstrual period and time of intercourse) is greater than 4 weeks then there should be concern for miscarriage or ectopic.

Large range: Hello, it is too difficult to say with one hcg level and the range varies depending on the individual. An ultrasound will generally be unable to accurately date your pregnancy at an hcg level less than around 2000IU/ml. Also a gestational sac is not expected to be seen at this hcg level.
