A member asked:

Does endocarditis cause short stabbing like pains in the upper left area of the chest? did not lift, swing, or exercise.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not usually: While endocarditis might cause chest pain or shortness of breath, it often causes no symptoms especially as it is being treated. Check with your doctor as there are rare complications such as septic pulmonary emboli that may require further evaluation and treatment.
