It is unlikely: to help. What will help more is an H2 blocker like pepcid or zantac (ranitidine). Also, be sure to avoid spicy foods, caffeine, smoking, and alcohol. Finally, you are 64. Has your chest pain been worked up? It could be cardiac rather than GERD. If it hasn't, see your doctor. If this is a new chest pain, go to the ER. Hope this helps!

No.: You need to take anitacid , H2 blocker and Proton pump inhibitor kind of medications. See your local pharmacist for help . In the mean time schedule a doctor visit.
