Diet: If you are pre diabetic, I am assuming you are referring to insulin resistance. The best way to reverse this is to lose a small amount of weight. Exercise combined with small frequent meals should give good results. Check with your doctor for a referral to a dietician for help with your eating patterns. The loss of less than 5 percent of your body weight will improve this condition.

Diet and exercise: Exercise is fine, as long as your heart is OK (I saw you listed "occasional chest pain" with your conditions - get a stress test). Diet would include smaller more frequent meals (5-6/day), high fiber (50 grams daily), limitation of simple sugars, more fruits and vegetables (contain fiber at a low caloric density). Low fat and low cholesterol, too.
