Back pain: At age 19, it is unlikely for primary back pain to originate in the spinal area, but bending over and deep breating can cause referred pain to the back area. You should consult a physician to determine the cause, but it may just be connedted to the onset of ovulation or your menstrual period. More history is necessary to answer completely.

Any tauma?: Could be a rib or chest muscle. Pain when you breathe suggests that a rib may be involved (or a muscle between the ribs) This would be where your ribs join your thoracic spine in back. An X ray should be helpful!!! Hope this helps Dr Z

It sounds like: You have either a soft tissue like intercostal or spinal erectors of the back or bony issue like involving one or more of the cartilage/spinal joints in that area.I sounds less like a primary injury/issue with the lung or tissue(pleura) surrounding the lung. The only way to better guide you would be to have a formal examination. Also if you feel any shortness of breath you should seek urgent help

Mid back pain: The pain you describe is where the rib head inserts on the spine. The rib head may have become inflamed or malpositioned. See a back specialist or a chiropractor to evaluate and treat the problem.
