They can't and don't: Anxiety and stress have no effect on the retina. What prompted you to ask? Don't be taken in by the notorious popular misconception that "stress" is the cause of all illness. "Stress" is cited by 1) Health hucksters flogging bogus nostrums; 2) people who rationalize their unhealthy lifestyles; 3) the worried well who don't know any better. Arm yourself with real knowledge, not fake science.
