A member asked:

Can arthritis develop soon after knee arthroscopy if swelling was not controlled and there is bleeding in joint? symptoms point to possible arthritis

At 24 y.o,: What was the reason for getting the arthroscopy in the first place? You may have had it before; however prolonged inflammation and blood in the joint could release cytokines which could attack the cartilage causing arthritis. It however has to be prolonged. Weeks, months of inflammation in addition to further trauma to the knee such as weight bearing, continued sports etc.
