This depends upon...: If you have an IUD in place, a partner who is reinfecting you and what organisms are causing the problem. If you want to cover most things, metronidazole and doxycycline are excellent. A penicillin or clindamycin is beneficial in some cases and fluconazole is often needed as yeast can also proliferate and cause PID as well. IUDs need to be removed, and partner treated. Doc must culture the vagina.
