I have a sharp shooting pain at the bottom of my rib cage on the right side. i have had regular bowel movements. it woke me from my sleep.

Related to breathing: Is that sharp pain in synch or can it be reproduced by breathing movements? If so, you're fine...just a little intercostal neuritic pain from a pinched nerve twig that will relieve itself in short. If that's not the case then, likely a transient GI glitch. If that symptom changes into something more prolonged and localized into the abdomen then, you need to see your doctor.
