TMD/TMJ: While severe short term episodes of stress and bruxism (as divorce, moving, death of family, etc) might trigger mild TMJ symptoms such as muscle soreness and pain during chewing, most patients who suffer from TMD have issues in occlusion (bite) and jaw relationships that remain a problem and worsen in time if not addressed early. See a dentist with expertise in this area for evaluation.
