Depends: It depends on what you are eating. Different foods can raise your sugars at different rates. Sugar and processed or refined foods can raise your sugar level rapidly. Eat whole foods to get a better effect on your sugar levels. You can check your level 2 hours after eating, and it should be less than 140. Good luck, and stay in close contact with your doctor.

Glucose absorption: The rise in blood glucose after a meal depends upon type of carb, quantity, gastric emptying, insulin presence and response, and tissue sensitivity to insulin. So, it varies. Nnormally, in a non diabetic, glucose will rise less than 30 mg per dl. In a diabetic, the peak is higher and will occur in 30-120 minutes. In concerned, measure glucose every 30 min to see. You can assess your patterns.
