A member asked:

My 5 year old son has been diagnosed with pervasive developmental disorder , mild retardation/ what future for him?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: The diagnosis of PPD covers a broad range of delays. Some children more severally delayed than others. The important thing is getting your child all the services that can help him achieve his best potential. He would benefit from an individual education plan, iep, in school. This plan can provide extra help in school. Possible physical therapy and occupational therapy, depending on delays.
