Dilitation: The hot water dilates the blood vessels in your skin in order to dissipate the heat from your body . Because of that your heart beats faster in order to fill those blood vessels and keep your blood pressure from falling and decreasing the blood flow to your brain. This is a good way for your body to respond. Otherwise a hot shower could make you pass out and hit your head.
