A member asked:

The inside of my lower left back feels swollen yet the outside appears normal and when i touch it, there's no pain. what could this be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Muscular discomfort: There may be a mild inflammation of the lumbar muscle giving the sensation of swelling. Turning, twisting, bending may point to that area of strain or low grade inflammation. Cold or heat applications, liniment and,if you can take them,NSAIDS like ibuprofen may help. See your Physician if symptoms persist or worsen.
