So sorry: Sorry to hear of this devastation.Cant tell exactly what's being asked, but will take a shot:there are many variables that go into how long a body can continue to function post cardiac arrest.The respiratory center is buried deep in midbrain,protected by the cerebral cortex. It can continue to function and effect respirations even after severe oxygen deprivation. Ive seen go for several days.
