Can high blood sugar give you a pain in the sterum area?

Sternum pain: high glucose levels should not cause sternal pain but if you are a diabetic you are at much higher risk of heart disease. Sternal pain may be caused from reflux, heart disease, muscle strain and a variety of other causes. Any chest region pain that comes on with exercise or exertion should be checked out asap by a doctor. Good luck!

Not per se, no: Hi. No, high blood sugar doesn't give you a pain in the sternum area. However, poorly controlled diabetes (chronic, not a one-time or sporadic high blood sugar) does increase the risk of infection and heart disease (among other things, of course), both of which could lead to pain in the sternum area under certain conditions. Some such problems should be evaluated immediately. Go to ER.
