Hiking, biking, new?: If you recently started a new exercise routine or exerted yourself more than is typical for you in the last week, most likely this is delayed onset muscle soreness. Usually it appears 48-72 hours after unusual streuous activity. If thats the case, eat some salty food and fresh or dried fruit and nuts (trail mix is great) along with plenty of water and use OTC ibuprofen. If not, go see an MD.
