Unrelated: There is far less than a 1% risk of heart attack during pacemaker implantation. Once it is implanted, there is almost no way it could cause a significant heart attack. It will not prevent most cardiac arrests. An ICD can treat cardiac arrest from ventricular tachycardia or fibrillation
