How often should we check the IUD to make sure it's in perfect condition and we are safe when having sex?

Dr. Dan Fisher
26 years experience in Internal Medicine
Never.: The IUD is not user adjustable and does not require maintenance or inspection unless something is amiss. It should be checked by your doc at your regularly scheduled gyn visits and removed at the end of the IUD life.
