Hard to tell: Depending on the severity of compressing and duration of the symptoms, you could have permanent risidual numbness, but only time will tell. Nerves heal at a very slow rate and sometimes incompletely. You still may have some recovery with regard to sensation, but you'll have to wait and see what you get back.

Back surgery: It may take several months to fully heal post spinal fusion if there was nerve impingement it may take longer to resolve or there may be some permanent damage depending on the severity of the impingement
