Yes: Pityriasis does tend to get worse before it gets better, but your doctor is right. It is self limited and will eventually go away on its own. Hope this helps!

PR: PR does not usually spread everywhere - usually limited to the more central areas avoiding the face / hands / feet. It does resolve.
