Difficulty lifting: If this is your baby, as your baby grows and you are lifting a baby that is continuing to get heavier, you get stronger, as this is a repeated activity for you. If you are having difficulty with lifting and it is new, see your doctor. If this is not your baby and hard if you are not use to lifting and it would be your arm and upper back muscles that are weak. Wrist weakness will hurt if lifting

Exercising: How do you try and lift the child?Think about what part of your arms you seem to be using when you try and lift and that's the area of weakness.Myself I lift with with my arms, specifically using the biceps.Weight lifting regularly and using progressively increasing weights will help you strengthen those muscles. You can use resistance bands and mimic the same motion you make when trying to lift.
