No.: (published a couple dozen articles on Herpes Simplex) The virus is very fragile and by the time it is scabbed over it's very very hard to find any active virus there even by the most sensitive methods and it's not enough virus to infect. Furthermore, most 19 yr olds have had cold sores and are rather immune.
