Pain radiation: Embrylogically the testicles form intrabdominally near the kidneys. As a featus continues to grow in utero, the testes descend into the scrotum and the kidneys ascend higher in to the abdomen. Therefore there are nerves that connect these two organs. For instance a kidney stone can present with back pain that radiates to the testicle.
