??: Are you saying that your baby hates being on his or her tummy? I have found that LOTS of babies hate tummy time. They do tolerate it better if mom lies on the floor with them and they can see her. And time it right, not when hungry, tired or full. The "experts" say that infants who don't get tummy time are slower to develop motor skills. But they DO catch up. So you decide whether its worth it.

It's worth trying: different surfaces like interlocking soft floor tiles on https://www.foamtiles.com/kids-mats.html because prone position encourages development of motor skills & postural reflexes. It's more important in preemies & babies with abnormal muscle tone, but benefits all. "Gassiness" usually abates at 2-3 months when the smooth muscle of the gut develops coordinated movement.
