A member asked:

What kinds of physical and biochemical things can i do to stop my arches from falling, and is it also determined by bone or ligament strength, etc?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Go barefoot: The height of your arch is partially genetic and partially due to the balance of all the muscles and tendons pulling in different directions. The best way to preserve your arch is to walk around barefoot (or in a shoe or sandal with little or no cushioning). By forcing your feet to work harder, the muscles will become stronger, and your arches should improve. Hope this helps!
