You decide: You were likely actively contagious before you developed any symptoms, so if you are close and kissed her then, she was exposed.You are contagious during the fever phase, primarily the first weeks.However, you can shed virus intermittently for years. Most adults had it as kids so the GF is likely immune, or would be symptomatic by now.
