A member asked:

Some of my friends get very sensitive to light when they suffer from jet lag? is that possible? what can we do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Jet lag brain edema: Sleep deprivation prevents the brain from cleaning out toxic waste products. Mild brain edema may occur. The eyes may become photosensitive to a mild degree. Short naps may help but a full night's sleep is in order. Pycnogenol or ginko biloba may help relieve the symptoms of jet lag. N-Acetyl Cysteine may also relieve stress on the brain. Follow the directions on the bottles.
