A member asked:

I have scattered fibroglanular densities, and calcifications. bi-rad 2. she recommended i densities can hide cancer ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Fibrocystic disease: Scattered densities in breast common as part of effect of hormones on breast at your age. Scattered microCa has no significance. Only important when clustered at which time bx indicated. With birads 2 and question of lesion hiding in dense areas, this can be resolved with US or if necessary MRI of breast. Major value of mammo dx is to find a lesion that is non palpable Ca.
