Poss urachal abn: One possibility is an abnormality of the urachus, which runs from the belly button to the top of the bladder. In the fetus it is an open pathway. It normally closes off completely prior to birth. If not, it can result in drainage from the belly button, or closed off cysts can form, which then can enlarge or get infected, causing pain.
