One in the same: Knocked knees is a slang term for genu (knee) valgum (describing the inward angulation of the knees). The opposite being bowed legs (or genu varum-- knees angled outward). Surgery alone can permanently correct either condition when indicated. Mild genu valgum or varum can be symptomatically managed with something as simple as an appropriately angle heel wedge (medial wedge for genu valgum)
